St. Paddy's Day at the Senior Center

Ed and I wanted some corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day, so we ate lunch with the seniors at the senior center. The servings were just big enough to whet out appetite. Apparently, seniors aren't big eaters!

We followed it up with a rousing game of pickleball, which we have been doing three times a week since we discovered it! It's a fun way to get our daily step count in!

Irish Stew by Ed

Ed made Irish stew for dinner yesterday--an early St. Patrick's day treat! He cooked it while the Pearl Strings were practicing in the basement, and the whole house smelled delicious!

It turned out delicious, and Ed and I enjoyed a great meal last night, as well as look forward to several more days of delectable leftovers!

Book It Sisters Review Enchantment

The Book it Sisters met at Mary's house Monday to review Enchantment by Orson Scott Card. Mary provided a medieval feast for us to go along with the theme!

We enjoyed the book despite it's inconsistencies in time travel and magical rules.

Mary used the carcass of a bear for decoration in memory of the Russian bear god in the book. It was pretty scary!

Red Letter Day with Redfin

Our house went on the market today. Ed and I took this picture after walking home from the rec center following a rousing game of pickleball. We're going to miss a lot of things about this house, including its proximity to the senior center and free pickleball!

PIckleball

Ed and I played our first game of pickleball today. I'd been hearing about it for a few years and finally thought it was time to check it out. It was especially easy to do that now that Ed is retired.

We walked over to the Senior Center, where they have the courts and nets available all day. It was a fun, and fast paced game. I lost all 5 games, scoring only 5 points on my best game! Apparently, Ed's tennis skills are paying much bigger dividends than my racquetball prowess! Hopefully, with a little practice I'll learn some of Ed's tricks!

Cleaning House for Picture Day

Ed and I spent all week getting the house ready for pictures yesterday. Ed is a much better  (and more particular) house cleaner than I am, and it was great working side by side. By the time the photographers came, all we had to do was sit and watch.

We're going to list with Redfin, which not only is a discount broker, but also offers a cool 3D tour of your house (like Google street view). It took 3 hours in the morning for the photographer to take 173 scans of our house. The camera had 9 eyes and moves on the tripod. It was amazing.

We had the still pictures taken in the afternoon, and hopefully, we'll be officially on the market any day now!

Chattanooga Chew Chew

Charlotte and I had fun at Weight Watchers this morning. We sang the Chattanooga Chew Chew song to our friends at the meeting. We practiced once yesterday and were good to go. It has funny words and everyone laughed and enjoyed it. It was Charlotte's first time doing a duet, but she got right into it!

I remember doing this 20 years ago at a WW meeting in Colorado with Anne Pinkerton! I wonder if she remembers?
