Winfield Carnival

We went to the carnival sponsored by the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department last night. My friend Mary has been inviting us for several years, as it is a seasonal highlight for the Halsey family. We were lucky she told us to bring some lawn chairs so we could enjoy the classic rock band in comfort.

The Halseys had three grandchildren there, and we caught Mary dancing with Hazel during the concert.

The dinner was great, and we topped it off with funnel cake! Does it get any better than this?

We took a walk down the midway before we left. It reminded me of Parker days in Colorado, except for the fact that now we have no one who begged to take a ride! Crystal was content to hang with us and sing along with the 60s music! She knew as many words as I did, but not as many as Ed! Ed not only knew the words, but he could even name the bands that originally sang each song! It was a fun evening with perfect weather--a small taste of Americana before our big trip to Europe next week!
