Ed and I visited Bath, England in June, and two months later
we’re in Bath, North Carolina. We rented a house on the Pamlico river for the
week. We drove down from Maryland, in a drive that took 2 hours longer than
expected. We’d heard horror stories about the traffic on I-95, and they were
all true. We were rewarded with a lovely, peacefully home on the river for the
next 7 days.
It has a lovely screened porch with a view of the river. It
also has a (very slow) internet connection and no cable TV. It’s almost like
roughing it!
My brother David paddled over from their house on his paddleboard. He
makes it look easy. I’d like to try that!
Rachael and Kate walked over, and went to the end of our
pier where you can see their house right behind them.
We then enjoyed a fruit, cheese and crackers dinner on their
pier. There had been nothing but rain in the forecast, but we were lucky and
were able to sit outside and watch a family of dolphins swim by.
The sunset was particularly beautiful. We’re looking forward
to tomorrow when our girls show up along with John and Nolan. It will be fun to
see them!
