Duluth is such a cute town and full of surprises. Ed and I discovered this church while we were taking a walk after breakfast. It reminded us of the church in Seiffen, Germany. We wondered if that was where they got their inspiration.
We helped Amanda move into her new apartment today. Ed was rueing having accompanied me on the walk after a few hours.
Luckily, reinforcements arrived in the form of missionaries. It went pretty quick after that.
Ed and I had time in the afternoon to take a little stroll around Canal Park. It was a nice day and Duluth was out in great numbers enjoying it.
We were happy to get there just as the lift bridge went up to allow this boat to get through.
Then, in the evening we went to the real Street Scene, the opera at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The entire show is all acted out in the street in front of an apartment building. The set was so beautifully done. We really enjoyed seeing the show a second time and got so much more out of it once we understood it better.
Amanda's voice teacher, Alice, directed the show. She must be happy to see it coming to an end. What a lot of work! But it was time well spent. We enjoyed seeing some of our audience members cry when Amanda died. But that was the way it had to end. After all, this is opera!
