The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers had an open house at Alpine's Pioneer Relic Hall yesterday. They plan to open it on Saturday afternoons in the summer. Ed and I took the opportunity to drop by yesterday!
It is the oldest building in the city of Alpine. It was dedicated by Brigham Young, who ventured the opinion that "Mountainville" was a silly name and suggested they change the city to "Alpine." We agree with Brother Brigham on this one!
They had some nice pioneer relics, but best of all had more information on Mr. Lambert (of Lambert Park). We're hoping to be able to post some of that on our Nature Center website!
