Lake Link Bike Ride

Crystal, Ed and I went for a 15 mile bike ride today. It was a beautiful day, and we totally enjoyed the ride. One good thing is that Ed didn't fall off his bike this time. His bike was all tuned up and working great. I got bit by a biting fly while I was setting up the camera for this picture. It was worth it. We're proudly wearing our new helmets. Notice they have bills, like a baseball cap. They also have air holes for ventilation. That was really nice, as it was a little warm out!

Whistling Prairie, the Bush family band, is now in pre-press production of it's 2008 Christmas CD. Here's an advance copy of the African Christmas song, Betelehemu!

How Great Thou Art

Abby, Crystal and Brittany played How Great Thou Art for a fireside at church. Then did a reprise of it for Grandma and Grandpa after the anniversary party.

Ed Melzer with his kids

At the anniversary party it was fun for the Brady side of the family to visit with the Melzer children (our stepbrothers and sister). We hadn't had such a nice chat since our cruise in 2002. We're thinking we need another bonding experience, maybe in the Caribbean!

10 years of wedded bliss!

Summer is here and the adventure begins. We spent June 17th with Ed and Norma Melzer, who were married 10 years ago. It was fun being with Mom and Ed on their 10th anniversary. We looked at their wedding pictures. They hadn't changed, but everyone else around them has really aged. The grandchildren have all grown up. All three of Ed's children, and three of Norma's children were able to be there for an impromptu party. It's nice that at their age (fourscore and something) they are still able to host a party.
