Hiking and Reading and Chalk

On Wednesday we hiked Alpine Nature Hike #5 again for those who couldn't make it on Tuesday. It was just as fun the second time! It is so interesting to stop at the 'guzzler' put in by the Mule Deer foundation. It collects rainwater and snowmelt to give the deer another water source. We just wish we had a guzzler cam!

It was fun that Marilyn brought 6 grandchildren. They were so engaged and worked hard to find the flowers. This granddaughter was pointing out rock goldenrod on the cusp of blooming!

After lunch we met with many of the same ladies for book club! We discussed The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. While the writing style was good, we were not all big fans of the story line. However, it was a great discussion book, so isn't that what book club is all about, anyway?

Ed went to Denver for the day to be with Crystal as she closed on her brand new house! I'm so excited to go out this weekend and help her move in!

Debbie Dickens and I went down to Creekside park in the evening to check out the chalk art that is a part of Alpine Days! Alpine really knows how to party! It was fun to see all the creativity and just enjoy being outside as the sunset on a very pleasant day!
