On Saturday, Crystal and Ed and I rode our bikes to downtown Denver and back again. The picture of us is at the confluence of Cherry Creek and the Platte River. We started at 104th, where it crosses the Platte river. We carefully planned our trip to go upriver on the way, and downriver and downhill on the way back. We enjoyed the ride, and treated ourselves to a nice lunch (with a few too many french fries). We were looking forward to coasting back after lunch, only to find out it is uphill in both directions? The wind also blew in our faces in both directions! What are the chances of that? Although it seemed like much more, it was only 1 1/4 hours in each direction. We were so tired when we got home that we could only lay around the house and commiserate with each other the rest of the afternoon. It was great!
