The neighborhood book club met yesterday at Debby Dickens' house to talk about the book
Educated, by Tara Westover. It was a riveting memoir about a girl raised by a fundamentalist, survivalist, faith-healing family in rural Idaho. After having no education till the age of 17, she went on to get a PhD from Cambridge.
I was thrilled to be able to participate in life again and feel normal for the afternoon. The discussion was great and the food delicious!
The unexpected bonus I got was a hair braiding and shoulder massage from Gayelynn! That was so nice! It has been hard for me to do my hair with the painful blood clot in my right elbow.
As usual, book club was about much more than books!
