It's a New Day

Amanda and I drove all night last night and got home at 6:15 a.m. this morning. We pulled over for a two hour nap about 3 a.m., then hit the road again. We had planned on staying in a hotel last night, but we just kept driving. Once we got our groove on we didn't want to stop. It was all worth it to get this picture of Amanda with the sun coming through the trees beside our house. It looks like the Dawn of a New Day. I guess that is what it is for Amanda.

We had a good time talking about things on the long drive. We may just have worked out some of our mother daughter "issues" as well. We took turns driving, switching every time we stopped for gas, which was every 2-3 hours, as the U-haul was a real drag on our mileage. It also made looking for a gas station on the steep and twisting streets of Cumberland, Maryland more of an adventure than we really wanted at 2 a.m.

We had a great trip, the only bad thing having occurred yesterday morning when I mistook my poison ivy lotion for toothpaste!

  4. The first words out of my mouth when I read about the t.paste mixup was "Oh YUCK!" And then I had a good laugh! Hopefully THAT FLAVOR didn't linger too long....
I LOVE the morning shot! SO BEAUTIFUL! One of the reasons worth getting up early for....
I'm glad you found your way home. I look forward to hearing of more "Mother-Daughter Moments"
