Hiking Liberty Reservoir

We got this map of Liberty Reservoir last month. The green color in the middle is the water, and the red lines around it are the fire road. It is not one constant road, but has starts and stops. Ed and I plan to hike the entire fire road--but not in one day. I've changed the fire road to yellow in the places we've already hiked. We've hiked around our house many times, but hope to do every section eventually. Naturally, we'll take Coda with us. She loves the fire road, as there is so much to see, and so much to smell!

In order to make it easier to track our progress, I've posted a new page on the blog (see the tabs at the top of this page). I'll keep it updated where we've hiked. It is also nice, because you can zoom in and scroll to areas you want to see. It is easy to read the street names and see the hiking dates on that view.

We had hoped to hike it all this summer, but something always comes up--like Ed's kidney stone this weekend! Barring any unforeseen circumstances, perhaps we'll be done by the summer of 2013!

  1. Just wondering where you found that map. I'm also working towards the big loop, maybe on a long weekend. Been doing a section at a time, mostly in order. I've done from 140 down to the dam and a bit beyond on the east side, starting to work on the west side. Great map. -thanks
